Grants Tomb
View looking west of General Grant National Memorial (commonly known as Grants Tomb) in Riverside Park, near the intersection of Riverside Drive and 122nd Street. New York, New York, mid to late 1910s. Alongside the tomb several battlecruisers and battleships head north on the Hudson River, passing the New Jersey Palisades. The mausoleum, designed by architect John H. Duncan and completed in 1897, contains the body of American Civil War General Ulysses S. Grant (1822-1885), the 18th President of the United States, and his wife, former First Lady Julia Dent Grant (1826-1902)
