Shah Mosque (Masjed-e Shah), Isfahan, Iran
Night view of Shah Mosque, also known as Royal Mosque or Imam Mosque, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, standing in south side of Naghsh-e Jahan Square, in Isfahan, Isfahan province of Iran.
Shah mosque was built during the Safavid Empire, ordered by Abbas I of Persia. It is regarded as one of the masterpieces of Persian architecture in the Islamic era. Its construction began in 1611, and its splendor is mainly due to the beauty of its seven-colour mosaic tiles and calligraphic inscriptions. The mosque stands as a monument to the vision of Shah Abbas I and the accomplishments of the Safavid dynasty
