Ta Phrom Temple and its Gigantic Trees and Roots
Ta Phrom Temple, built in 1186, is said to be one of the most romantic and appealing temples of Ankor. Gigantic trees and roots have invaded the temple buildings, intertwining and disrupting the walls and statues. This temple was chosen by Ecole Francaise de Extreme Orient to be left in its natural state as an example of how most of Ankor looked on its discovery in the 19th century. This inspired decision involved a significant amount of work to prevent further collapse and enough clearing of vegetation to allow entry
