A suspended way made with difficulty in a spectacular setting on the cliffs of the Avon Gorge
The world famous Clifton Suspension Bridge was designed by the great Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Sadly he never lived to see his creation finished in 1864. Work began in 1831, but the project was dogged with political and financial difficulties and the project was abandoned. Brunel died aged only 53 in 1859, but the Clifton Suspension Bridge was completed as his memorial.

Illuminating Clifton - Suspension Bridge Bristol
It's very disconcerting standing of the edge of a muddy river bank, attempting to take photos, knowing that there is someone on one knee, on the opposite river bank, with a big zoom lens, taking a photo of me at the same time. He was probably thinking who is this lunatic, best get the camera out just in case he falls in" Anyway, this is my home Village, Clifton in the heart of Bristol. A lovely place to live. I'm happy to have managed to get a shot with some winter lighting shining off the village
