Traditional Japanese Woodblock print of Actor standing
" Utagawa Kunisada (1786 aa January 12, 1865) also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III was the most popular, prolific and financially successful designer of ukiyo-e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan. This image was published by Maruya Jimpachi and dated by the censor seal as 1861 as an aratame (examined) print. The print illustrates the actor Arashi Hinasuke in the role of Uemura Hatato. He satands with two swords and an instrument in his hands and wears traditional costume and wears Geta sandles on his feet and forms part of my own private collection of original woodblock prints."
