northern lights over Aldeyjarfoss waterfall in Iceland

The Aldeyjarfoss waterfall is situated in the north of Iceland at the northern part of the Sprengisandur Highland Road which means it is to be found within the Highlands of Iceland. One of the most interesting features of the waterfall is the contrast between the black basalt columns and the white waters of the fall. In this, it is similar to the much smaller Icelandic waterfall Svartifoss in Skaftafell. The river SkjA?lfandafljA?t drops here from a height of 20 m. The basalt belongs to a lava field called Frambruni or SuA?urA?rhraun, hraun being the Icelandic designation for lava

Ursa beach at Cabo da Roca n the wilderness of Sintra Natural Park

This beach is locatted over a cliff near the road leading to Cabo da Roca in the wilderness of Sintra Natural Park. A small road sign indicates the way to the dirt road and improvised parking space. From where thereA?s a 10 minutes walk in a narrow bumpy pedestrian road literally through bushes, trees, and nature. In the end of it thereA?s the lovely small, cliff protected, bay shaped white sandy beach! Because of this difficult access and despite the smallness of the beach, you will find allots of space, large rocks, grouts and corner resembling a pirates film movie scene! Because of all this wilderness thereA?s no bars/cafe or bathrooms. The water is very fresh ( sometimes cold...) and very clean because its the Atlantic ocean! Some consider one of the most beautiful beach in Portugal

Follow the light

Phare du Petit Minou is a lighthouse in the roadstead of Brest, standing in front of the Fort du Petit Minou, in the commune of PlouzanA©. By aligning it with the phare du Portzic, it shows the safe route to follow for ships to enter the roadstead. It also has a red signal that indicates a dangerous sector around the plateau of les Fillettes (literally the girls), one of the submerged rocks in the goulet of Brest sailors remember this by using the mnemonic "the Minou blushes when he covers les Fillettes"
