Aquitania Rudder By Rail

A 54-ton rudder for the Cunard liner Aquitania, carried from Darlington by a special LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) train, joins the main line at Eaglescliffe railway station, Stockton-on-Tees, 30th January 1928. The rudder, which is on its way to Port Clarence, overhangs the adjoining track by 10 feet. (Photo by Topical Press Agency/Hulton Archive/Getty Images)
