The Wimbledon Championships, or just Wimbledon as it is known today, is the oldest and probably the most famous tennis tournament in the world. The inaugural Championships were held in 1877 and have been hosted by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London taking place over two weeks in late June – early July.
