A stylish 1920s, 30s and 40s collection

Born in 1892 in Edinburgh, Alexander ‘Sasha' Stewart, moved to London and launched his professional photography career in 1914. He opened his first London studio in Bloomsbury in 1920 which was popular amongst the upper class. His theatrical and society portraits were frequently seen in sophisticated journals such as The Tatler, The Sketch and Illustrated London News.
