Peat Extraction
24th September 1955: A sixteen-ton disc ditcher harvesting Highland peat for fuel. The peat is milled and prepared before being used as fuel for the construction of the nearby Loch Shin hydroelectric power plant. The land is then reclaimed for arable or pasture land which enables crofters to continue to farm.
