(Original Caption). Albert B. Fall, aged and ill, faces eviction here, from his ranch home at Three Rivers, New Mexico, where he lived for 35 years. As Secretary of the Interior in the Harding cabinet, he was the center about which the storm raged in the famed Teapot Dome scandal--a scandal which rocked the nation, drove Fall from the Cabinet and sent him to the penitentiary on a charge of accepting a bribe. This picture, made October 1929, shows Fall being wheeled from the Washington, D.C. courtroom after a session of the bribe taking trial. During the trial, he collapsed and never wholly regained his health. The petroleum securities company controlled by Edward Doheney, a life time friend of Fall, who was also in the Teapot Dome affair, was seeking the eviction of the former cabinet officer. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
