(Original Caption) 8/18/1933-New York, NY-Not even the many-armed divinities of Oriental mythology could outdo Alex C. Darion when playing his unique one-man orchestra. Two days of each week he gives a special concert in Prospect Park for all who care to listen. With his left hand he plays the castanets, drumsticks, rattle, wooden xylophone and taps on the doll contraption for effect; to the right hand which strums the banjo, is tied the tambourine and cymbols, the left a little ding-dong. The harmonica is fastened to a holder hung under the player's collar. When he gets stuck he still has his ears. The one-man band came to America in 1912 and has studied music for 13 years. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
