One thousand clay tablets, including many letters written upon unbaked clay some 3400 years ago and neatly addressed to various individual who inhabited the vicinity of Kirkuk, Iraq. at that time by Edward Chiera, assistant professor of assyriology. The clay tablets will reaveal, it is believed, the complete life history of an ancient people whom historians known vistually nothing. the clay tablets were found by Dr. Chiera in a recent archeological expeditionnear Kirkuk, a region of earliest antiquity here to fore unexplored. Dr. Chiera carried onhis research work under the joint auspices of the American school of Oriental Research in Bagdad and the American Irag Museum, and after he had translated the contents of all the tablets half of them are to be sent to the Iraque museum. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
