Framed Print of Astronauts Waiting Outside the Command Module
(Original Caption). Suit Test. Astronaut Joe Engle enters Apollo command module in the Manned Spacecraft Center's Space Environment Simulation Laboratory, Chamber A, for a test of the integrity of the Apollo Block II spacesuit. Already inside the command module are his fellow crew members astronauts Joseph Kerwin and Vance Brand. Other two pictures show (from the right). Kerwin, Brand and Engle after completion of the suit test. The test was a prelude to thermal vacuum test of the Apollo spacecraft in which the crew will spend 177 hours inside the command module. The test will be held in the same chamber as shown here. In chamber A, the vacuum and thermal conditions of space more than 130 miles above earth can be simulated. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
