DETROIT-9/15/73-: Auto workers from Chrysler form a picket line at the Lyn Road Chrysler plant late 9/14 after the UAW called a strike with negotiators for both the union and Chrysler failed to reach agreement of a new contract before the strike deadline of 11:59 p.m. 9/14. The plant was the scene of a wildcat strike earlier this year. Some 127, 000 workers left their jobs at midnight 9/14.
