Mrs. Billie Jean King of Berkeley, California, (L), and john Newcombe of Australia, hold up their winners trophies after they added the United States championship to their Wimbledon titles on September 10th, standing indisputably as the monarchs of Amateur Tennis the world over. The bespectacled, 23 year old Mrs. King became the first U.S. player since 1961 to win the women's title when she repeated her victory in the Wimbledon final over Mrs. Ann Haydon Jones of Britain, 11-9, 6-4. Also, 23, Newcombe, who was runner up a year ago to Fred Stolle of Australia, ended the progress of Clark Graebner of Beachwood, Ohio, throughout the tournament by winning the final 6-4, 6-4, 8-6. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
