New York, New York: Showman Billy Rose and actress-author Gypsy Rose Lee are shown on their arrival last night at famed original Delmonico's Restaurant where they joined other celebrities of stage, screen, TV and industry in a huge joint corporate birthday party for 50 American firms founded in 1840. The affair was hosted by Park and Tilford Distillers Co. one of the 119-year-old firms, and by the downtown Manhattan restaurant, which celebrated its 125th anniversary. William Sederbaum, Park and Tilford president, told the audience of some 300 guests that it is a rarity today to find 119-year-old American corporations especially since research disclosed that some 70 percent of businesses fail to survive past their tenth year.
