(Original Caption). Winding up five weeks of location film work at circus winter headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, Cecil B. DeMille and his movie company returned to Hollywood by TWA chartered airplane to continue shooting on his picture, The Greatest Show on Earth. After eighteen months of preparations and script writing, DeMille left Hollywood the previous January 24th with a cast headed by Betty Hutton, James Stewart, Dorothy Lamour, and Lyle Bettger to film scenes involving animal acts, aerial performances, parades and circus life at the spot where Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey circus spent its winters. The crew and cast worked through the January unseason/frigid weather while there. Although back in Hollywood for camera work, the DeMille company still was to spend a number of weeks on the road with the circus when the big stop took to the road the following Spring. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
