(Original Caption) 9/12/56-Brooklyn, New York: This daring dash homeward on an eighth inning attempted steal with the bases loaded by Brave left fielder Bobby Thomson (25)---cost him a $100 fine slaped on by manager Fred Haney-following the Brooklyn-Milwaukee game here September 12th. Thomson, who tried to steal home on his own, was an easy victim for Dodger catcher Roy Campanella (kneeling). Thomson also committed the near-unpardonable sin in baseball by coming in standing up.
