This cut away diagram, drawn from factory plans, reveals, for the first time, interior details of the six giant flying boats which have been in the course of construction for more than a year at the plant of the Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, Wash. to the order of the Pan American Airways System. The first airliner ever built for the transportation of passengers over ocean air routes, these huge Atlantic Clippers are designed to carry 50 passengers on 24 hour schedules between America and Europe. On shorter routes they provide accommodations for 75 passengers. They will weigh 42 1/2 tons fully loaded twice the size of the clippers which are pioneering transatlantic air routes and one half again as large as the clippers now used on the transpacific route to Hawaii, the Philippines and China. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
