Dr. Laureano Gomez, the former President of Colombia, appeared likely to win the majority of the conservative seats in the new bipartisan Congress which was agreed on after the overthrow of dictators Gustavo Rojas Pinilla. With about half of the ballots in today's general elections counted, the liberals obtained 1, 150, 479 votes to the 892, 262 pulled by the three conservative groups. Both the liberals and the divided conservatives will divide congressional and other seats on 1 50-50 basis, in accordance with an agreement for a 12-year period. The idea behind the agreement, approved by the nation in a December 1st plebiscite, was to pool the best political talents on a bipartisan basis to straighten out the mess left by the dictatorship. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
