Framed Print of Engineers with Old and New Machines
(Original Caption). Voice of Genius. West Orange, New Jersey: Exactly 75 years after Thomas A. Edison invented the phonograph, modern inventors at the company which bears the original genius name developed a streamlined voicewriter, a combination dictating and transcribing machine, which is compact enough to fit into a briefcase. In one of the laboratories at Thomas A. Edison, Inc. West Orange, New Jersey, facilities for research, development, and engineering have been turned over to young scientists who are charged with keeping the original inventions up-to-date and creating new devices. Francis J. Safford (left), the company's chief development engineer, holds the first phonograph, and Richard M. Someres, engineering director, holds the 1952 voicewriter. Unleash your creativity with premium art prints that turn any room into a visual masterpiece.
