In a fighting speech before the assemblage, sponsored by the Democratic State Committee, Mr. Truman demanded forthright Democratic criticism of what he called the GOP's ignoble and partisan use of foreign policy. In his speech, Truman led top Democrats to loose the 1956 national campaign with a wide, swinging indictment of the Eisenhower administration. Another frontrunner for the nomination, Adlai Stevenson was absent. He's in California where he's trying to line up that state's.
