Detroit, Michigan: When Edsel Ford, Henry's oldest son, died on May 26, 1943, Henry Ford resumed the presidency he had relinquished in Edsel's favor 25 years earlier. He was just two months away from his 80th birthday at the time, but he had never lost his business genius. His mighty empire continued to turn out the sinews of war needed by America and her allies with his hand on the helm. Then his oldest grandson, Lt. Henry Ford II, came home from the Navy and pitched in to help. His grandfather trained him for the arduous role of operating the Ford empire. The elder Henry decided that the young man was ready for the job in mid 1945, although Henry II was only 27 at the time, and once more Henry, Sr. resigned and his grandson stepped into the presidency. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
