(Original Caption). Harriman Visits German Chancellor. Bonn, West Germany: Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and W.Averell Harriman, President Truman's representative, held a three hour discussion on German rearmament and other European problems today which Adenauer said served our common goal -- world peace. U.S. High Commissioner John J. McCloy, who also took part, said later that he was happy that Harriman had come to see just what we are doing here toward the unification of Europe. Harriman said his coming had no particular connection with the September meeting of the big three foreign ministers, much of which is scheduled to be devoted to Germany. After his session with Harriman, Adenauer said that his country developments give ground for optimism. The chancellor has long been the leading German advocate of prompt rearmament here and inclusion of German troops in the fight. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
