(Original Caption). Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia: From insurance to motels to snake park is the story of an American i Africa. Mr. Lawrence A. Hautz used to run an insurance agency in Milwaukee, on the shores of Lake Michigan. He was touring through Rhodesia by car in 1954 when he decided that there was a need for a motel. So he stayed and erected the first 20-unit motel in Federation. Since then his plans have extended and he has invested 100, 00 pounds on a 100 acre stretch of ground nine miles from Salisbury. On this land, beside the road to Victoria Falls, he now has a filling station, a citrus orchard--and the largest snake farm in Africa. Mr. Hautz is nto satisfied with the 1, 000 snakes of all species which he has at present. He is importing others like the coral snakes from Florida, the king cobras from India and thr boa constrictorsfrom South America to put on show. He also h. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
