(Original Caption) Test subject Fred Spress, Crew Systems Division, wears the space suit and extravehicular equipment planned for use by David R. Scott. Scott will use the equipment for extravehicular activities during the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Gemini VIII space flight. The helmet is equipped with a gold-plated visor to shield the astronaut's face from unfiltered sun rays. The system is composed of a life support pack worn on the chest and a support pack worn on the back. Scott will be secured to the spacecraft by a 75-foot tether line.
