Marciano Aguiluz Holding a Bomb

(Original Caption) Col. Marciano Aguiluz, (wearing helmet), holds an unexploded bomb dropped on the city of Liberia by rebel airplanes during a raid. Col. Willis Lewis, (examining bomb) of the United States Air Force, and Jorge Maciel (right), Brazilian member of the Organization of American States, look over the "dud." The four U.S. fighter planes which were sold to Costa Rica for the token price of $1.00 each arrived in the Central American Republic Jan. 17, and the three plane rebel Air Force promptly disappeared from the skies. Military observers said the loss of air domination by the rebels would prevent them from launching any effective ground assaults against the hastily organized Costa Rican defense force
