(Original Caption). Sixteen-year-old Merry Margolish grew curious about the whole subject of color blindness when her father remarked how much he liked the new gray tablecloth. You see, it was pink. That's when the wheels in her head began turning and an idea for a project that would bring her national recognition was born. The high school student devised an original color wheel to test and evaluate color blindness. Painting the color wheel was no chore for Merry, for besides being scientifically minded, she is handy with pencil and brush as well as clay modeling. Her tests for color blindness on 83 of her fellow students at New Rochelle High School placed her among the 40 top finalists across the nation in the 16th Annual Westinghouse Science Talent Search. Her homemade color wheel is one of the first of it's kind and shows the originality needed by the scientists of tomorrow. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
