(Original Caption) 5/14/1962-San Francisco, CA- Followed by Deputy U.S. Marshal Fred Sharply (r), Mickey Cohen boards a prison boat for return to Alcatraz Federal Prison in San Francisco Bay here 5/14. The former gambler, one of the few persons ever to get a vacation from Alcatraz, is returning to the Rock to resume serving a 15-year sentence for income tax evasion. He had been free on $100, 000 bail since 2/17 pending a ruling on his appeal. Cohen was charged with evading about $200, 000 in Federal taxes.
