Nehru told the reporters that while he favors the surrender of Formosa to Communist China, he would urge a counsel of patience and time to permit the present excitement to die down. The Indian leader, who is returning home following the conclusion of the Commonwealth Conference of prime ministers said he advocates informal rather than formal diplomatic approaches for a peaceful settlement of the Formosa issue.
