Akron, Ohio: Peggy Kirk, above, of Findlay, Ohio, fired a 69 at the field today in the qualifier for the Ohio State Women's Golf Tournament being held at Akron Portage Country Club. This was the first time Miss Kirk played on the Portage course, and her score shattered the women's record held jointly by Joyce Wethered of England and Mary Ann Heron of Akron, Ohio, which was a par 72. Miss Kirk teamed with Mildred Babe Didrickson last winter in Florida to win the international four ball title, and finished 3rd in the Tam O'Shanter last week.
