(Original Caption) 1/11/1962-New York, New York- Police officers Stanley Strull, (L), and Robert Belicastro quiz two youths at a Queens station house after they were arrested in a round-up of drag racers on Cross Bay Boulevard in Broad Channel. Police said the youths, Lawrence Taplansky, 18, of Ozone Park and Christopher Loell, 21, of Richmond Hill refused to move as policemen tried to clear the road. Twelve other youths were arrested on charges of reckless driving and engaging in a speed contest after police threw up roadblocks at each end of the four-mile strip where the racing took place.
