(Original Caption). Held Off Police for Three Hours. Bronx, New York, New York: Police are shown carrying Leopold Szlodinski out of his basement apartment today after overcoming him with tear gas. The highly skilled Polish cabinetmaker, who lost his factory at Lodz during World War II and became a pawn between the German and Russian invaders, went berserk in his Bronx apartment and held off police for three hours with a homemade spear before the tear gas was thrown in. His wife Dorothy said that her husband, first conscripted by the German Army, then captured and put into a Soviet prison camp, had been under mental care a year ago. Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
