Richard Harding Davis, story writer, playwright, novelist, and war correspondent, on June 8th 1912 walked into the theater where Bessie McCoy was playing to packed houses wit her Yama Yama Girl act. He announced to Joe Gaites, the manager between matinee and evening performances that Miss McCoy was leaving the show immediately because she was no longer Bessie McCoy but Mrs. Richard Harding Davis. Gaites persuaded him to allow the Yama Yama Girl to remain on the bill until tickets sold in advance had been made good. It appears Gaites was not altogether surprised, for weeks earlier there had been a little fire at the theater and the lovely Bessie McCoy sought the chief of the firemen to please, please savie Dickie Davis letters on my dressing table. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
