(Original Caption). Rogers Hornsby, (R), one of the greats of American baseball, who managed the Veracruz (Mexico). Blues ball club, and charged that American baseball executives who was critical of the Mexican Major Leagues were hampering the future of the sport, is shown. He said he knew of other American players who were considering jobs with Mexican teams in managerial and coaching roles and that they would be baseball's contribution to good will. Charges of pirating of American players have been leveled at Hornsby by officials of the Syracuse, New York team of the International League. Here, Hornsby is shown with a group of the Veracruz team's pitchers, in Mexico City, just before their game with the Mexico Reds. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
