As a Leap Year payoff, Miss Wilhelmina Van Son, 27-year-old Los Angeles housekeeper (1911 Zonal Avenue), was elected Queen for a Day today (February 29) on the NBC-TV show by the studio audience - and then learned she is going to board an aircraft carrier and meet 2, 500 sailors among whom she may even find a husband! After crowning Wilhelmina Queen, emcee Jack Bailey presented her with a diamond engagement-and-wedding ring ensemble and a wedding trousseau (to be used when she finds the right man) and then set her up to find that man. The Queen for a Day program will fly Queen Wilhelmina to Jacksonville, Florida, from whence a Navy helicopter will fly her aboard the USS Randolph, an aircraft carrier on which she will inspect the 2, 500-man crew.
