Pre-teen girls (10-12) working with plasticize
11/9/1943-New York, NY-ORIGINAL CAPTION READS: Speaking as an ex-child, we are all in facor of the system of teaching at the Elementary Division of the Morage Mann-Lincoln school of Teachers College of New York, where children have the opportunity to learn by doing. Mud-pie making was frowned upon when we were a kid. Maybe that's why we're not a sculptore today instead of a caption writer. The children at Horace Mann-Lincoln are encouraged to make mud pies, but they are mud pies that have something to them and the mud is modeling clay. Children thus develop artistic talents themselves. Who know but that the little lady above at work on a clay horse may be a distaff edition of Rodin in the Bud
