Bunche smiles after receiving the news that he has been appointed a Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations August 19th. The post is said to be the highest to be held by an American in the UN Secretariat. The long expected nomination of the 1953 Nobel Peace Prize winner was announced by UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold at a press conference August 19th. Dr. Bunche, since 1946 Principal Director of the UN Trusteeship Council, will draw an annual salary of $23, 000 plus $10, 000 in allowances in his new post. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang.
