Rogers Hornsby, one of baseball's all-time greats, has been signed to manage the St. Louis Browns for the next three years, at the highest salary ever paid by the club Shown here with John J. McGraw (right) in 1926, Hornsby was in that year manager of the Cards. McGraw was pilot of the Giants then, and was in his 25th straight year with the New York club. Hornsby, elected to baseball's Hall of Fame in 1942, will be making his fifth try as a major league manager. He bossed the Cardinals in 1925 and 26, the Braves in 1928, the Cubs in 1930, 31, and 32, and the Browns from 1933 through 1937. this will be the first time he won't be a playing manager. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
