(Original Caption). Reagan Plays Vegas in 1954. Los Angeles: Early in 1954, when his film career had hit bottom and he hadn't made a movie in months, Ronald Reagan agreed to do an all-but-forgotton two-week stint in Las Vegas, headlining a show at the Last Frontier Hotel with a male quartet called the Continentals. Los Angeles Magazine which uncovered these historic photos of Reagan playing Vegas, interviewed members of the Continentals in its April issue to get a first-hand impression of the president's performance. Ben Cruz, the 59-year-old former leader of the group, recalls: We expected to have to carry Ronnie, and at first he was rough as a cob. But then he really opened our eyes. By the end of the first week, he was moving like the rest of us. He knew the choreography as well as we did and he was just as polished. Most stars would have faked it, but her learned his stuff. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
