San Quentin, Calif: Newsmen were kept at a distance April 22, as condemned hippie cult leader Charles Manson was removed from Los Angeles Sheriff's Deptment van inside the gates of San Quentin Prison. Under the law, Manson who was sentenced to death for the Tate-Labianca mass murders, had to be delivered to state authorities within 10 days of his sentencing, but will be returned to Los Angeles before April 26th to go on trial for the Hinman-Shea murders.
