Walter Cronkite during his time as a war correspondent during WWII. Cronkite is standing in front of a Glenn Martin B-26 Martin Marauder, serial # radio call sign RJ-W named ?USO?. This picture was taken on Feb 9, 1944 at Earls Colne, England just before a mission that Mr. Cronkite flew with the 323rd BG 454th Squadron to Freval, France to take out a German V-1 rocket site. In the picture with Mr. Cronkite are (L to R) the Flight Engineer T/Sgt Ceibert C. Bragg, the Tail Gunner, S/Sgt Enrique Zepeda, Radio Operators /Sgt Arthur W. Brand, Bombardier 1st Lt Norman M.
