(Original Caption) 7/27/1966-New York, NY- Ernest Gallashaw (C) rides between two New York City detectives after his arrest on charges of firing the fatal shot that killed an 11-year-old Negro boy during racial disorders in the East New York section of Brooklyn. Gallashaw, 17, was charged with the sniper shooting after police tracked down the rifle which fired the shot.
