Fish Furniture

The Dolphin Furniture or Fish Furniture at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, 15th July 1948. Commissioned by John Fish as a memorial to Lord Horatio Nelson and presented by his widow to Greenwich Hospital, it is on loan to the Royal Pavilion as a fine example of Regency design. The torchere at the top is the work of William Collins and depicts scenes from the Battle of Trafalgar and the Apotheosis of Nelson, on a pedestal of carved dolphins and sphinxes.
