High Climber
A high climber (also known as a tree topper ) pictured suspended from a tree, using climbing hooks and rope to ascend the tree in a logging site, USA, circa 1895. Carrying his saw and axe on ropes, the high climber would chop off limbs as he climbed, chop off the top of the tree, finally attaching pulleys and rigging to the tree so it could be used as a spar so logs could be skidded into the landing.
