The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. The Five Lands is composed of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Over centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible corporate development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach them from the outside. The Cinque Terre is a very popular tourist destination.The villages of the Cinque Terre were severely affected by torrential rains which caused floods and mudslides on October 25, 2011. Het gebied is moeilijk bereikbaar met de auto langs de steile kust. Er loopt een wandelpad dat de vijf dorpjes met elkaar verbindt: de Via dell Amore. Ook worden de dorpen met elkaar verbonden via een spoorlijn die onderdeel is van de hoofdlijn La Spezia-Genua. Via het wandelpad heeft men uitzicht op zee en de met terrassenteelt bewerkte heuvels. Ook zijn er door muurtjes begrensde olijf- en citroenboomgaarden op de heuvelwanden te vinden.Het grootste dorp is Monterosso en heeft 1560 inwoners. Het is gelegen aan een zandstrand. Vernazza heeft 1060 inwoners en wordt beschouwd als het meest pittoreske van de vijf dorpen. Het dorp telt een aantal rotsstranden en heeft een kleine visser. Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass).
