Sani Pass is a famous 4x4 dirt road that connects KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa to Thaba-Tseka in Lesotho. South African border control is at the bottom of the pass and Lesotho border control is at the top, although the pass is technically within South Africa. A 4x4 vehicle is required to climb up the pass and conditions can become impossible in bad weather. The road is full of tight hair-pin turns and switchbacks
