A view of the village of Capel Celyn in the Tryweryn Valley near Bala, Merionethshire, Wales, 27th February 1957. In 1957, a private bill was passed by Parliament to flood the valley in order to create the Llyn Celyn reservoir. The valley was flooded in 1965 after an 8-year legal battle.
