Bas relief of a Kala, Banteay Srei
A kala is a mythical creature representative of time and of the god Shiva. Banteay Srei is a 10th century Khmer temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, built of red sandstone and has elaborate decorative wall carvings. Devatas, also Apsaras, from Hindu and Buddhist mythology carved in bas relief in Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is the largest Hindu, then Buddhist temple complex and the largest religious monument in the world bearing Khmer and Dravidian architectural styles. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site
